On July 28, Ma’anshan News, Taiwan. com of China (Taiwan. com reporter Gao Jiaze) opened the Third Cross-Strait Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry Forum on July 27 in Ma’anshan. Chen Deming, president of the Shanghai Association, attended the forum and was interviewed by our correspondent. Chen Deming pointed out that the new media should introduce more environmental protection brand enterprises, superior technologies and innovative ideas of the two sides. It should act as a bridge to link environmental protection industries and technological concepts across the Straits and strengthen communication and cooperation with Taiwan’s media.
“At the end of this forum, entrepreneurs should act quickly. The economic transformation of the mainland in the future, the major environmental protection industries under the new normal conditions, energy conservation and emission reduction are all very important aspects. In the past, we did not pay enough attention to and introduce this aspect.” After the second cross-strait energy-saving and environmental protection industry forum in 2015, Chen Deming, chairman of the Shanghai Association, expressed the hope that the pioneers of cross-strait environmental protection industry would seize this new opportunity and take practical actions to speed up the cooperation and development of cross-strait environmental protection industry.
On the role that new media should play in environmental protection industry on both sides of the Straits, Chen Deming said in an interview with Taiwan Net of China that the environmental protection industry on both sides of the Straits mainly lacks mutual understanding and information communication. Therefore, new media should introduce more environmental protection brand enterprises, superior technologies and innovative ideas of both sides. Like a bridge, it links environmental protection industries and technological concepts across the Straits and strengthens communication and cooperation with Taiwan’s media.
President Chen Deming recalled that when he first arrived in Taiwan in 2001, Taipei citizens in the evening would carry plastic bags to classify their garbage. Now, Taiwan has a higher level of recycling on the basis of kitchen waste incineration. With the continuous renewal of cross-strait environmental protection technology, new media should be multi-media. Chen Deming said that he hoped that the forum could continue in the future, continuously exert new influence in the field of environmental protection industry on both sides of the Straits, and promote further exchanges and development between the two sides. (end)
